A Short, but Urgent Message from South Korea
I'll write down more details about this later. There's not much time, because this law could be passed by tomorrow. The president and the government are trying to make some laws which allow the 3 major extreme right-wing newspaper companies to have the broadcasting stations. These 3 newspaper companies have a close relationship with big companies[we call them as "Jae Beol" or "Chae Bol".] We consider this as a step backward of Democracy in South Korea.
Following Video is made by the labor union of MBC, one of the Korean Broadcast Stations. Please watch it, and spread this all over the world.

Thank you for your concern. So many things are going on, right now, in South Korea. The problem is most of them are not good things. The trial of Media control is just one of them.
Just for that Media matter, we got 100 more days before the law is passed. The government party and the opposition parties made a negotiation ; they will make a discussion group without polititians about that media law. After 100 days, the parliament will take a vote on that bill.
Unfortunately, the government party has more parliament members, so if we, people, can't make a serious change, they will pass the law. I don't know exactly what I can do right now, but I'm trying not to give up and run away from this situation. Actually, there's no way to avoid this matter as long as I'm staying here. I think there will be kind of movement to stop them and I will join it in any way.
I believe that Korean people have power to resist when they face injustice, because I believe we remember how we had fought for Democracy in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. You can consider that this situation is similar with the situation of U.S.A, when they elected Goerge Bush once again in 2004. We elected this president, and we gave them the power. However, there are getting more people who think that we made a wrong choice, and that we have to stop their wrong policies.
I hope that we can correct our choice and make a change like what U.S citizens did last year. The difference between the U.S and South Korea is we don't have a second chance to make a right vote. Next election is so far. The current president has 4 more years of his term. So we have to find another route excluding the president election.
