The 3rd letter : Weird and Ordinary Spring of Korea

Hi there. This is Yurim from Seoul. The weather has been unusual lately. It's too warm to be April of South Korea. But flowers came back again with Spring. Today, I'm going to upload a photo of my town. You would see the famous flowers of Korea in Spring in this picture ; they are Golden Bell flowers and Cherry Blossoms. (Actually, Cherry Blossoms in Korea have been planted by Japanese during the occupation. This is just one of the ironic symbols of Korean history, I think.)

A Short, but Urgent Message from South Korea

I'll write down more details about this later. There's not much time, because this law could be passed by tomorrow. The president and the government are trying to make some laws which allow the 3 major extreme right-wing newspaper companies to have the broadcasting stations. These 3 newspaper companies have a close relationship with big companies[we call them as "Jae Beol" or "Chae Bol".] We consider this as a step backward of Democracy in South Korea.

Following Video is made by the labor union of MBC, one of the Korean Broadcast Stations. Please watch it, and spread this all over the world.

The second letter : Authentic Korean Food I

Hi there! It's been quite a long time since I wrote the first letter. I really wanted to write in time, but I had to study for my English test, TOEIC. Have you ever heard about this test? Anyway, I did the test last Sunday. I haven't got the result, but I'm pretty confident. haha. While I studied for this test, I thought this would be a good theme to write on this blog; Korea being obsessed with English! However, it's not today's theme. Today I want to introduce some athentic Korean food we eat on traditional holidays like New Year's day. Asian New Year's day was on January 26.
